Delicious Dishes Anytime
Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:21AM Happy Friday Everybody! I intended to post a new yummy recipe today, but there was a slight change of plans last night. As I was corresponding with all of you foodies yesterday, one of my lovely followers mentioned that she is looking for crock pot recipes so that she & her hubby can sit down to eat together during their busy schedules. I think eating good food with your loved ones is very important and is actually something that I did not do much of when I was growing up. That is a story for a different day, believe me.
After meeting Nick, I decided that I was going to change my path a bit. So every night that we can, we eat together. It may not be in a conventional way sometimes, but we spend that time talking and laughing, or sometimes I watch in amazement at how much food he can eat in a short period of time. Again, that's a story for another day.
So when Starla inquired yesterday about crock pot recipes and other kinds of meals that could be prepared ahead of time I knew my post for today was going to change drastically. I love my foodies and I love helping in any way that I can, so today I give you a list [laundry list, if you will] of my crock pot recipes, crock pot recipes that I love, and other special dishes that can easily be prepared ahead of time so that all you have to do is bake or configure the dish and eat with your loved ones.
First, let's start with Crock Pot Recipes:
Beef & Cheddar Roast Beef Sandwiches
Spicy Hot Buffalo Chicken Sliders
Gluten Free Spicy Sausage Stew
Slow Cooked Chicken and Dumplings
Tortilla Soup - this can be made in 20 minutes or you can put all of the ingredients in the slow cooker for a couple of hours on low!
The great thing about most casseroles is the fact that you can prepare everything ahead of time and bake it when you want to. Here are some of my favorite casserole dishes, that I'm sure you can pre-cook, put in a casserole dish and store in refrigerator until you want to bake it during the week. Just follow the instructions all the way through and don't bake it until the day you want to eat it!
Creamy Chicken Pot Pie - don't include the bisquick until the day you make it!
Cheesiest Broccoli & Rice Casserole
Layered Macaroni & Cheese Casserole
Cheesy Chicken & Rice Casserole
Gluten Free Cheesy Cheeseburger Baked Macaroni & Cheese
Here are some easy meals that you can prepare ahead of time or will only take 10 or 15 minutes to cook. Whomever gets home first can start whipping it together so that you can enjoy your time with your family.
Grilled Romaine with Spicy Sausage & Blue Cheese Balsamic Vinaigrette
I'll continue to update this as the days go move forward so that it is a post you can always come back to. I hope this helps some of you busy people out during the week when all you want to do is sit down to a nice dinner and enjoy some time with your family.
If you have recipes you think would be awesome additions to this list, please email me the recipe and the name and I'll make sure to add it!!
I hope you all have a fabulous day!
Enjoy!
