Bingy Cherry 7-up
Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 10:03AM Happy Sunday Morning everybody! Last night I realized that the grass IS always greener on the other side. I have been flying solo all weekend. Like I have mentioned a hundred times before, Nick is home with his family this weekend and I elected to stay behind. I was a bit sad and bored on Friday, but as yesterday started up and continued, I started to realize that my weekend of solitude was about to abruptly end and I was a little bummed. I like being by myself sometimes; not always, but at times it is nice to have a minute to breath and think about things. Today it all comes to an end. That’s okay because I do miss my Panda Bear.
I have decided that I need a break from food. So I am going to take it easy today and get back to work tomorrow. I bet you’re wondering what I can bring to you if I am taking a day-cation from food, huh? Well, fear not because I have a lot of delicious things to blog about, but today I am bringing to you another fun drink.
I like the idea of creating fun drinks or trying to replicate my all time favorite drinks; and, it seems like the summertime is the best time to try to reproduce all of the yumminess that I love so much. Well, after yesterday’s fun 4th of July drink, I got to thinking about creating another drink, but had no clue what I wanted to do. Then it hit me. I had a handful of cherries I wanted to use up and I had some 7up. I happen to love Cherry 7-up so I thought I would try to make a fun version of the classic Cherry 7-up that we all know and [maybe] love! So today I bring to you Bingy Cherry 7up. Believe me when I tell you that this drink is SUPER easy and SUPER cool to make!
Ingredients:
- Cherries, seed removed & halved
- Diet 7 up
- Ice cube tray
Directions:
- Remove the seeds from each cherry & then halve the cherries
- Put one half of a cherry in each ice cube tray hole
- Fill the cubes & cover the cherries with 7up
- Freeze overnight
- Add the cherry ice cubes to a glass and fill up with 7-up

- Serve & drink!
This is such a great way to brighten up a Sunday morning and an awesome way to make an ordinary soda exceptional! I love it. I love looking over at the coffee table to see my beautifully bright red glass filled with frozen Cherry 7-up ice cubes floating around in my glass. It does not have the typical cherry flavor; so, if you are expecting the actual Cherry 7-up taste you may actually want to add a tablespoon of cherry juice to the bottom of the glass before you add the soda. It’s your call. I am thoroughly enjoying the drink as it is; it is awesome to bite into one of those cherries as the cubes begin to melt!
I hope you all enjoy this EASY drink as much as I am on this Sunday morning. I promise this drink would be a fun drink for any picnic you may be having tomorrow. If you can, freeze a BUNCH of cherries today and add them to a huge punch bowl and fill it up with soda tomorrow so that people can serve themselves!
I really hope you all enjoy this as much as I am.
Until Next time,
Happy Sunday
