4th of July Red, White and Blue Striped Drink

Happy Saturday! Pippy and I both miss Nick. He looks the way I feel; funny how a doggy cannot hide his dissatisfaction in life, huh? I would much rather be exploring the area and learning about its history with my soldier than sitting around reading a book written by a former delta force commander. Though I cannot complain – a good book [and this IS a GREAT book] and a weekend alone has been one of my wishes for several weeks now. The grass is always greener, right?

Anyway, moving right along.

I knew that I wanted to incorporate something red, white & blue into my life this weekend, but I also knew that it would have to be on an individual scale because it is just me. I got to thinking, what could I contribute to all of you during this holiday? That’s when it hit me, it’s hot and it is important to be hydrated, so why not have a festive Red, White & Blue beverage? Today I give to you – A Red, White & Blue Festive Striped Drink for the Fourth of July! It is super easy and super fun! Keep in mind that the recipe I have for you is for an individual serving.

Inspired by Divine Dinner Party

Here is what you will need:

  • 2 to 3 ounces cran-cherry juice
  • 2 to 3 ounces Blue Gatorade
  • 2 to 3 ounces Sprite Zero
  • Ice

Directions:

  • Add a couple ice cubes to your glass and pour in the cran-cherry juice

  • Carefully add a couple additional ice cubs
  • Pour the Gatorade into the glass over a spoon; this helps keep the layers separated

  • Carefully add a couple additional ice cubes
  • Finally, pour the Sprite Zero into the glass over a spoon

  • Serve & Drink!

It is super delicious and incredibly light. It would be great if you’re sitting pool side with a good book, like myself, or if you are enjoying festivities with your family and friends. The best part about this drink is how incredibly easy it is to make. Therefore, if you have a bunch of kids around, set up a table, give them the ingredients and have fun showing them how to make their own Red, White and Blue 4th of July drink! I am sure it will be a great time!!

Happy July 4th Everybody! I hope you enjoy!

Until Next Time,

Happy Drinkin’

What a great idea I can't wait to try this. Just wish I was as lucky as you and could have the pleasure of enjoying this poolside.
