Easter Tag
Friday, April 22, 2011 at 12:30PM Hi again all of my foodie [and non-foodie] friends! I have something kind of cool to bring to you. Last night and again this morning I was tagged by two of my foodie buddies for an Easter Round-Up or Easter Tag. A special thank you to This Southern Lady Cooks & Mindy over at Whiski Business for thinking of me!
You all know what tag is, right? Well today I am not physically chasing anybody, nor do I believe anybody is chasing me. I hope nobody is. However, us foodies are chasing down some of our favorite Holiday recipes to blog about. It’s a cool way to publicize A LOT of ideas for those of you [and me] who are a first time Easter – dinner – maker! Oh, yes, you heard it right! I have never made an Easter dinner on my own. In fact, before this year I played a minimal part in Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts, too. I made it out of those situations just fine, so I am not so fearful for Easter.
It is great to see my new friends out there joining together to create an ULTIMATE list of Easter ideas. While I have a game-plan for my first Easter, all of these things will come in handy for the years to come. Yep, I said YEARS! You ALL are stuck with me! In fact, a lot of the recipes can easily be created any day during the year – you are not harnessed to this weekend only.
So let’s get down to it. Here is what you will need to do to play in this game.
- You have to share between 5 and 10 recipe suggestions for Easter
- Once you make your selections, make sure you have your photo and link the photos back to your recipe
- After you do all of these easy things, link it to 10 bloggers for an invitation to do the same!
Here are my choices. I apologize in advance because I am relatively new to the foodie scene. So some of my suggestions come from the same meal!
First, I am starting with a breakfast/brunch that became an instant favorite: Eggies in a Hole
For my appetizer I think you will all love these Apple & Blue Cheese Tartlets [scroll down]
For the entrée, why not try to switch it up a bit. Instead of a ham, take a look at this juicy Prime Rib with Au Jus [scroll down]
For a side dish, try my favorite Gorgonzola Mashed Potatoes
What holiday is complete without stuffing? Try this amazing Cornbread Stuffing [scroll down]
To complete the main course, don’t forget some Buttermilk Biscuits
For a dessert, try this Sweet Cherry Pie [scroll down]
If a cherry pie is too heavy for you, try this light, sweet and amazing Coffee Affogato
I hope somebody can find my suggestions useful. I really loved eating my selections. In fact, I want to make them all right now and stuff my face. It’s still pretty early here, so I do not think it is appropriate!
I hope you all enjoy
Now to Tag my Foodie Friends. I'm still developing friendships, and I'm not sure I can retag who tagged me, so here is who I picked:
Running with the Dev(il)... Eggs that is
And there you have it! My picks for Easter suggestions and my bloggie friends! I hope you all give it a try! It's pretty fun, actually!
Happy Easter!! :)

I was thinking about doing this! Thanks for giving me more motivation :)
Wow, I really feel left out there with all my friends up there that you asked to be a part of this! All this, after the nice premiere on my page a couple days ago as "Pick of the Day" and bringing a fair amount of new fans to your page. Disappointed:(
Okay I might be just a little slow, but I'll play your game...hehehe..especially since it doesn't involve me running! Let me make sure I understand though cause I'm a new foodie too...I do a post on my blog with the photos and links and invites right? Told you I was a little slow, well, maybe tired is more appropriate. Just finished cooking the last 7 hours straight :) And now I'm rambling....lol. Okie dokie I'll do it tomorrow and come back and let you know when it's done! Thanks for the tag!
Please do not feel left out. Refer to your facebook page! :-)
Mine's posted!
What an interesting idea and a great way to share some recipes.. I love it :-)
