Frozen Hot Chocolate

I don't know about any of you, but I love hot chocolate! In fact, I have a not-so-secret love affair with chocolate. However, hot chocolate can sometimes become boring especially in the midst of a brutal winter so I decided to mix things up a bit. Since I like frappes [even during winter] and it is going to be kind of warm here today I decided to make Frozen Hot Chocolate. Be very jealous, it is chocolaty delicious. 

Ingredients:

• 4 oz milk or semi sweet chocolate chips [about 1 cup]
• 2 teaspoon store bought hot chocolate mix
• 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
• 1 1/2 cup milk
• whipped cream

Directions:

• Put chocolate chips in a double boiler over simmering water, stirring occasionally until melted
• Add the hot chocolate mix and sugar, stirring until completely melted
• Remove from heat and slowly add 1/2 cup of milk until smooth
• Cool to room temperature
• In a blender, combine the remaining cup of milk, the room temperature chocolate mixture and the ice
• Pulse until smooth and the consistency of a frozen daiquiri
• Pour into two cups and top with whipped cream

This was soooo good! I could drink it all day long. And it is much cheaper than going to your local coffee shop and buying a $4.26 frappé. I hope you all give this a try!!
