First Blogiversary Giveaway!

Happy Wednesday foodies! This is a pretty special day! Today is my First Blogiversary!! One year ago on this faithful day I started blogging about food. I cannot believe it. Honestly, I never thought that I would be a blogger, let alone a blogger of food. Me? Never. I mean, when I first started I was not even comfortable making eggs. I guess I’ve come a long way.

I have a lot of people to thank and I wish I could thank each of them individually, but it would take so much time. First, I have to thank Nick for supporting me along the way. I don’t think that I would have even continued with this but for his support and encouragement. It didn’t hurt that he liked to eat everything I made. I mean, when you have a football sized guy that is hungry all of the time it only seems logical that learning how to cook would be the cheaper alternative to eating out {which is what we were doing a lot before we moved to Arizona}.

Second, I have to thank all of my other foodies. I do not know what I did to fall amongst such great people, but I would do it 10x over to get to where I am today. Some of you hold a very special place in my heart; you have transcended virtual reality to be my friends and I cannot tell you how blessed and honored I feel to know you. Each day I am impressed, inspired and encouraged by each of you. Not only that, sometimes I am amazed at what you create and blog about. Like I said, you all are an inspiration to me and I would not exchange my relationships with you for the entire world.

Finally, to all of my followers – those people that stop by and talk to me each day – THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I could not do it without your encouragement, conversation and relationships. You have all impacted me in ways beyond my comprehension. Some of you stop by everyday to talk to me; I look forward to it, I smile with the conversation and input; I expect to see you. Talking with you all makes me heart smile; whether you know it or not, you keep me going. Your input, encouragement and daily words inspire me to blog each day. I don’t know if I could do any of this without you. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining the Cooking with Mel family. All three of us love sharing with you {even though I’m sure you all come back in hopes of finding a new picture of Pippy} and I hope you will walk into the future with us.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

In honor of my Blogiversary, I will be hosting several giveaways! The first one starts today. It will stay open until Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Midnight, EST. I will announce the winner on Sunday, October 23, 2011. At which time, I will announce the next giveaway!

Today I have for you a gift that serves me well almost every time I am in the kitchen. I am giving a grouping of my favorite kitchen utensils away.

Nestled in the oven mitt, you will find:

• One Spatula
• One Pizza Cutter
• One Grater
• One Potato Peeler
• One Ice Cream Scoop
• One Whisk
