Marinated Steak with Rice
Monday, November 15, 2010 at 4:49PM
Nick made dinner last night. I had NOTHING to do with it. However, I did agree to blog about his tasty creation. Since I have gained several pounds due to my stupid kidney stone [and not being as active as I should be] I opted out of dinner last night, which left Nick on his own. He marinated steak overnight in a garlic balsamic sauce. While you do not necessarily have to marinate the steak overnight, it does not hurt!
Ingredients:
- Steak [whatever will feed you and your family]
- Garlic balsamic marinade [or whatever you like best]
- 1 1/2 cup uncooked rice
- 1/2 cup Mexican cheese
- 1/2 tablespoon Mexican spice
- Gorgonzola cheese
Directions:
Rice:
Steak:
Rice:
- boil water
- add rice, spices, mix, and cover for 10 minutes
- we added some of the juice of the steak to the rice - it gives it a great flavor
- before serving add 1/2 cup of Mexican cheese and mix thoroughly
Steak:
- grill on George Foreman for approximately 15 minutes or until cooked to your individual taste
- sprinkle gorgonzola cheese over steak and serve
This was such a simple meal. It was really simple for me because all I did was add the cheese to the rice. Kudo's to my Panda Bear for making such a great meal... and making his official debut on my blog.
Until next time,
Happy Grillin'
